About the Design

Inspired by the classic fairy tale by Gabrielle Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, Beauty & the Beast was painted in watercolour and ink over a tea wash. It depicts the Beast embracing his Beauty before his palace, framed by roses as the portrait of the prince he used to be hangs above the frame, scratched by his own claws.
